On Monday, the design team shared the banner images with the Frontend team. I had most of the banner images on my usb drive, and I gave the banner images (which are intended to be used on the other pages of the website) that I had to the frontend team so that they could have them to add to the current website. We worked on the team’s contribution document in class. I read the design team’s work blogs to gather information for this contribution document. Our team did a lot of different things, and I wanted to reflect on everything that we did to make sure that everything that we did to contribute to this project was included in the team’s contribution document. Cody typed the team’s contribution document, and the design team members and I gave Cody suggestions on what to put in the document. I suggested several things that had not yet been mentioned in the document for us to use in the contribution document.
On Wednesday, the design team edited the team’s contribution document before we posted it to the course website. We then took a picture of our hands. The client mentioned that “we like the image on the home page.” Chris brought his camera in to take our hands picture. He took several pictures so that he had options to choose from. After class, I looked at the current website. I went into the portal and set the links that should be included with the South Side Center, Counseling Center, and Head Start/Early Head Start by choosing the category that link belonged to. After I placed the links with the corresponding center, I noticed that the links did not show when I clicked on the center’s main link.
On Thursday, I created a document and shared it with the class. In this document, I noted everything that I saw needed addressed. One issue was the links that should be displayed as sub links when one of the three centers are chosen. I also reported some errors that I found when I was viewing the webpage with Internet Explorer. I also noticed that the “Volunteers” link was not included on the main side bar, and I could not add the “Volunteers” link as a new page in the portal.
On Friday, the design team filled out the evaluation document of the other teams. There wasn’t much else to do after we filled out this document. I continued to monitor the design and layout of the website. Some of the issues that I had addressed in the “Changes/Suggestions” document that I had shared with the class had been resolved. The issue with the links being displayed with the corresponding center wasn’t resolved. The backend team thought that the links were included in the document for each center. After class, I discovered that some of the links were missing and those links were not listed anywhere in the website. I added the missing links to the corresponding centers so that the client would at least know that those webpages did exists. Overall, I thought this project went pretty well, and I felt that the design team worked really well together.
