Individual Activity Report (Week 5)

The final week of this project began with reviewing the instructor’s feedback. I spent some time reading over what Nathaniel had to say and then looked over our white paper. When we turned in the document, we knew we still had a lot of work to do and the feedback we received added a few more items to the list.

Individual Activity Report Week 16

Like usual this was another easy week. I looked over some of the suggestions provided by the professor and I also looked over the corrections Zephyrus made to our white paper. The paper looked good with the corrections made and I was very happy with how it all turned out. Other than looking over the final paper there wasn't much else that I did this week. The only other thing that I did this week was get on to my account and make this post about what I did this week for the white paper project.

Individual Activity Report Week 16

This week was a much easier week for me than last week. I began by contacting my group to set up a time to meet so that we could go over the revisions of our white paper. After several emails we decided to meet on Wednesday. On Tuesday, I did a little more research on Opera. Using my research, I rewrote the problem section to balance with the other browsers. I also rewrote the Opera paragraph in our introduction.

Individual Activity Report 5

Date: May 3, 2009
To: Professor Rivers
From: Brian O’Leary, Group 2
Subject: Individual Activity Report 5

This activity report accounts for the progress I have made from April 27th to May 3rd.

This week my first task was to revise my section of the white paper. I mainly had to change the wording of my section to avoid using 2nd person which was noted by Professor Rivers as being too informal for a professional document. I also had to include my citations within my section of the paper. The citations were used in the side notes of my section.

This week we, obviously, finished up the white paper final draft. I worked on changing the layout a little. The column width was increased for the right-side column and decreased for the left-side. This allowed space specifically for the hardware table and graphic for each phone. I added footers as well to replace the MS graphic and text box that supplied the line and page number at the bottom of the page. Finally, I edited and added to the references and added in citations.

Individual Activity Report - Week 16

This week was a hectic one as our group was finalizing the draft. On Monday at 6pm we had our weekly meeting. It was here that I bounced ideas around with everyone on how to break up the editing. Mike did a majority of the editing, but he still needed my resources and input on it all. I went through my solar power section and found all the resources that I used to write about solar power and forwarded them to him. I then proofread the white paper at several different stages of the editing process.

The final week of the project went pretty smoothly. Early in the week during the group meeting, in which we reviewed the comments on our draft and the front page post of general concerns, I gave my feedback on how I thought we should approach the revision of the layout and content of our white paper. After the meeting, I conjured up an image to go along with section covering the area I researched (Internet Explorer).

This past week was spent cleaning up our rough draft and tying loose ends together. The week started with an online chat Monday evening where the group discussed exactly how we were going to progress through the week and make sure we had our final draft completely finished by Friday morning. I offered to lend my hand to the editing process, as well as take responsibility for an overall conclusion section as well a comparative advantages/ disadvantages matrix to briefly summarize the key points presented in our white paper.
