Koppelman Work Blog Week 8

Frusterating. That is what I would describe this week. We get through the WHOLE PROJECT and the only mess up we have is on the final project. I moved back to school midweek, and with my recent medical problems it was NOT an easy job. It took me until tonight to get internet and Laura had a similar situation. Actually, I think hers was worse as she had to DRIVE back from Atlanta to Indiana. The question I keep asking myself is how much room for error does the average professional plan for?

Work blog week #8

The beginning of this week my group was very busy throwing ideas back and forth for the final draft. We look back over all the comments we received since the first draft and then looked over our project to see which changes made the most sense and any other changes we thought would make the brochure better. I suggested everyone take a close look at the comments given to us from the CFRC. I also told everyone to make a list of changes they felt should be implemented so we could review our lists before making changes to the draft.

This week has really seemed to pull the group together more then any other week. I think this is mostly due to the important due date that was approaching, but everyone took the lead on the part of the project that they had responsibility for. Everyday when I opened my email I recieved at least one email from my group members. Everyone was coming up with suggestions of ways to change the brochure to make it better and editing the writing. I personally made contacts early in the week to try and make sure everyone was on the same page with completing everything by the due date.

This week was a very busy week since we had our project due on Wednesday. We were able to receive comments on our work and had time to correct them. Roy, which was the person handling the comments and corrections for the humane society, did an excellent job. I read over the comments for both the pet brochure and the humane society, after seeing the correction that took place, I sent my approval and the brochures were sent. Furthermore, this week I am again preparing the activity report to conclude this class.

I guess it is normal to feel that, since it was the last week, there was more pressure than the others. It is a relief though, to se that everything was done successfully and that we delivered as a group with all the steps requested. Since Monday we have been on the final draft that was due on Wednesday. Libby had an inconvenience so I helped by doing all the changes that the Humane Society requested on our Pet Care brochure. The comments were minor since apparently the organization liked our draft.

This was a very productive week for my group. I started the week by writing the weekly group activity report, which is one of my responsibilities for the group. I then looked at the comments made by the CFRC and began to think about changes that needed to be made to the text. As a group we decided to have a meeting on Monday using instant messenger. This was a new experience for me, because I had little experience using AIM. I discussed with two of my other group members the overall look of the brochure as well as the text changes to be made.

This week was certainly a busy one -- our group received some good comments from the Human Society as well as from other groups regarding our brochures. After we started to receive feedback on our second draft we began to make changes. Roy came to the conclusion that it was not a good representation of the Human Society, so he remedied it by starting from the beginning and reformatting everything. He added more pictures and spruced it up rather nicely as it was due on Wednesday. I believe it represents the Human Society more closely now.

Week 8 was another busy week for our group. This was the last and final week for developing and revising our brochures. Kim and I were responsible for the caring for your pet brochure. I began the week with editing some more information. We followed the comments given to us, and hence I edited some information in the caring for your pet brochure, more specifically the vaccination part. We weren’t supposed to use any information from a non humane website and I kept that in mind. I sent the edited text to Kim then. She put the text together in the final draft.
