Working in groups, we will research a local data set online and then plot it to this collaborative map. Feel free to be creative in your choice of data sets; you might recall the "Mapping" episode of This American Life to consider how to view your local environment in new ways.

Once your group has determined what data set to plot, click this link, sign in to your Google Account, and click the "Edit" button to begin making changes. Make sure to click "Save" while you are working. When you are finished, click "Save" one last time and then click "Done" to shift out of editing mode.

We will work on this activity in class on Wednesday and Friday. Its purpose is to give us some experience working with Google Maps before starting our larger project.
