Individual Topic Pitch

The Individual Topic Pitch is a one-page Google Document that provides a general overview of a student's proposed advocacy project goals and how they could be accomplished. Pitches will be posted online, and each student will have one minute to deliver his or her pitch in class. Excellent topic pitches will outline a specific, tangible, beneficial change that is possible in the local environment and the technological means to effect it.

After the individual pitches, the class will vote on five topics to pursue. (Students whose pitches are selected will receive individual bonus points for the project.) The class will then break into five groups based on the chosen topics. Students whose pitches are selected will be members of the corresponding groups. Students whose pitches are not selected will sign up to join one of the five groups. (Groups cap at four members. Sign up will be on a first-come basis.)
