Online Portfolio

The Online Portfolio demonstrates a student's growth as an author through textual artifacts and commentary. Each student will create an Online Portfolio using the portfolio feature of Blackboard. The Online Portfolio consists of three sections:

  1. Introduction: This section is a brief statement (~3 paragraphs) describing the contents of your Online Portfolio and how it showcases your ability and expertise as a writer.

  2. Assignments: This section contains three assignments drawn from your career at UNCW attached as artifacts with short (~1 paragraph) descriptions:
    • A critical essay using research
    • An assignment that incorporates multimedia
    • Any additional document that demonstrates your expertise as a producer of texts

  3. Reflective Statement: This section is a brief reflection (~3 paragraphs) describing your experience at UNCW and your development as a producer of texts. Please identify specific courses, instructors, projects, and activities if possible.

Online Portfolios are graded only for completeness; the assignments contained therein will not be graded separately. If you submit a portfolio containing the material articulated above you will receive full credit. Portfolios are used inside the department to assess programatic effectiveness and outside of the department for university accreditation purposes. For these reasons, Online Portfolios are a mandatory component of Senior Seminar courses.

Please make sure to share your portfolio with this course. The course number is:
