Style Portfolio Draft Workshop 1 has two parts.
By the end of the day on Thursday, Nov. 9:- Select one of the two texts to improve that will be included in your Style Portfolio.
- Email the text to the two readers you were assigned in the instructor's email. (Assignments are not posted here for privacy reasons.)
By the end of the day on Monday, Nov. 13: - Examine the two separate texts sent to you by your classmates.
- For each text, identify three stylistic features that are being used effectively. (If the work is long, you may focus on a portion of it rather than the whole document.)
- Send a brief email (~three paragraphs total) to each text's author in which you identify the three stylistic features being used effectively, making sure to reference specific appearances. (Please CC the instructor on your emails.)
By completing this activity you will practice stylistic analysis and get productive feedback that may shape the development of your Style Portfolio. |
