Each student will analyze a journal article that is relevant to the material we encounter in class. By analyzing secondary works we will gain a broader understanding of the primary material, and we will assemble a bank of sources to use in our papers. Analyses should be one page and do the following:
Students will sign up for a class period to present their journal article analyses. Presentations should include discussion and be no shorter than 10 minutes. Analyses also will be submitted electronically, so that we can create a class set. There are many places to find appropriate journals, but if you are not certain where to look, you might check through the indices listed below. Then you can simply look through some journal issues for topics that catch your eye, or you can do a more focused search for articles about a particular subject or figure. Rhetoric journal indices:
