Reading Commentaries are brief documents that formalize our thoughts about reading material. They will be submitted electronically and read aloud in class. They facilitate productive class discussions and help individuals prepare to complete papers and exams.

Reading Commentaries should:

• contain ~500 words
• be submitted electronically as file attachments before class
• be brought to class (electronically or in print) for reading aloud
• offer interpretations of and questions about the corresponding material
• connect the corresponding material with previous readings and outside sources
• include relevant quotations with citations
