Students will deliver their research in a corresponding presentation of approximately 10 minutes. Presenters should not simply read their completed papers, but rather communicate their material effectively within the rhetorical situation. Students will be able to share their screens for their presentations. Presentations will take place in class over the final two course meetings. Meredith's "Give Compelling Talks" may provide useful guidance about assembling a presentation.
Students who are not able to deliver live presentations will have the option to submit them will submit their presentations as recordings (unless they would prefer to do them live). There are many ways to create recorded presentations (options will be discussed in class video sessions):
- Using their personal Zoom meeting rooms (requires an internet connection)
- Using the university's Echo360 Universal Capture application
- Using the Loom recording application (now free for all students)
- Using the Screencast-O-Matic service (basic use is free)
- Using the Screen Recorder browser extension (basic use is free, Chrome browser only)
- Using Quicktime Player (Macintosh computers only)
- Using Canvas's built-in Media Recording feature
- Using their smartphones
Students also have access to many tools than can be used to augment Presentations (options will be discussed in class video sessions):
