Response Paper 1

Using the directions from the Response Papers description as a guide, compare and contrast the primary material from Investigating Cholera documents 16 and 17 to the chapter from Gaskell's (1848) Mary Barton and Johnson's (2006) Ghost Map. You might, for example, pay particular attention to the ways different kinds of narratives are constructed, whose perspectives are privileged, how the novel and pop-sci genres function, the forms of evidence that are used, or the ways heroes and villains are established.
