Students have the option to earn up to 4 extra credit points by creating a document that communicates their research findings to a broader popular audience. The document may be in one of four formats:
- Online Write-Up
- Infographic
- Podcast Story
- Online Video
Multimedia formats that require more labor have the potential to earn more points.
Students must submit with their Public Texts a comment that includes links to two similar peer popular science pieces and a discussion of how their own work functions effectively within this format and genre. Students can use the texts in these formats they previously have identified through their Popular Science Responses as peer works.
Public Texts should be informative, cohesive, and engaging for a popular audience. Resources for each format and stock media links are provided below.
