A lot of the maps from your previous classes are just geographical maps that have been adapted to serve a purpose. However, a few of them differ from that. Is it okay to do something that is not a geographical map, since it is uncommon?

Does the project have to be serious in nature? Can I do a data mapping of something silly like the ongoing argument of whether pirates or ninjas are better?
If it's actually an answerable question, how general or specific does the project need to/can it be? And for this project, if I understand correctly, we can choose just about anything?
How will we submit these maps to you? I know this will very greatly from person to person, but with those non-interactive sorts of maps, do you want them to be submitted electronically (i.e. pdf) or should we actually hand something in?
Would the 'basic printing' guide from the reading assignment be considered a data map? (requirements for data map: message + audience?)
