How to properly fillet a flounder.

How to properly fillet a flounder
Purpose
My instructions aim to teach readers to fillet a flounder the proper way. Flounder can be difficult to fillet if you have never done it because of their flattened body shape. My instructions will provide how to fillet the fish leaving no bones on the fillet and removing the skin. After following my instructions the reader will be able to fillet the fish and have the opportunity to cook it in a variety of different ways.
Audience
My instructions are aimed at serving anyone who has a whole flounder and seeks the proper way to fillet it. Flounder are a prominent species in estuarine and coastal waters and are routinely caught by fishermen. My instructions aim to serve any of these fishermen that are unsure of how to fillet a flounder and seek the confidence to do it themselves.
Context
These instructions will likely be used after the reader has finished fishing. This could take place at their dock, boat ramp, or in simply in their backyard. The instructions could be used just hours after the fish is caught or even the following days if the fish is correctly iced.
Strategies
My strategy would be to provide were clear and concise instructions to provide the reader with confidence. There will also be a title and a introduction stating the ease in filleting a flounder and illustrating the benefit or being able to do it yourself. This will install confidence and the motivation the reader will need to begin this task.
Medium
My instructions would be in a small pamphlet so that they would be portable. They will also be laminated so that the reader could use them on the boat or dock and will not have to worry about them getting wet.
Arrangement
The instructions will have an introduction that is fairly large to catch the reader’s eye accompanied by a brief introduction reflecting the ease of the process. Each step will be broken down sequentially with an image to complement the written instruction. The images will be close up pictures of how to hold the knife and where to make your cuts, which will reassure the reader.
Testing
To test these instructions I would likely present the instructions to one of my roommates, who know little about filleting anything, and ask them to fillet a flounder that I have caught. This would provide a concrete understanding to the effectiveness of the instructions.

How to clean a flounder to stuff it

How to clean a flounder to stuff it
Purpose
To properly provide the reader with clear instructions on how to clean a flounder so that it can be stuffed. Flounder can be stuffed with a variety of things such as crab meat, shrimp, or even jalapeños. This is an excellent way to prepare your flounder and can look more difficult than it is. This method of cleaning with fish will teach the reader to scale the fish, remove the head, and split it down the middle, and then remove the backbone. This will allow the reader to stuff any delicious item they want inside the fish in a very neat fashion. My aim is to provide the reader with the confidence and motivation to give this a try.
Audience
The audience consists of anyone who wants to try stuffed flounder on their own. This would likely be anyone who has caught a flounder and is looking for a unique way to prepare it. These people could be looking for a way to impress their friends at a dinner party or just someone curious about trying something new.
Context
These instructions would likely be used at a dock or at their very own house. The reader would have likely just caught a flounder or could have been given one. In either case, they would likely be used whenever the reader is ready to prepare the dinner. However, the fish could also be cleaned and then iced or refrigerated until the reader is ready to prepare the meal.
Strategies
Motivation to try this method of cleaning the flounder would be a main strategy. Demonstrating to the reader how easy and delicious this method is would be introduced to encourage the reader to try it. After the reader’s attention is caught, I will use clear visuals and easy to follow instructions to excite the reader.
Medium
I would laminate my instructions and provide them in a portable pamphlet so that the reader could use them in almost any situation. This would make my instructions much more practical and the reader would be encouraged to refer to them almost anywhere.
Arrangement
I would provide a brief introduction that includes the benefits of cleaning the fish this way with a large title so that the reader could easily distinguish what the instructions are intending. I will also provide an image of the finished product at the top so the reader can get a clear image of what the fish will look like when finished. I would include visual depictions with each step so that the reader could easily follow along and not question themselves.
Testing
I would test this material by asking my roommate to clean the fish because he has never done it. I would make sure he follows each step on my instructions and note the ease at which he cleans the fish.

1 - On this instruction set

1 - On this instruction set Arrangement seems to be the most thoroughly covered element. He sets up how he would go through the instructions which was helpful.
2 - Testing was the least thorough subject, I felt like I needed to know more about the process.
3 - As before this instruction set seems to perfectly achieve the goal, and shouldn't be changed.
4 - I believe if this instruction set were to be changed, the end result would be negative, it reads well and seems to have a good plan. I wouldn't change it.

The purpose was definitely

The purpose was definitely covered most thoroughly in this design plan. It almost describes the process to a tee in the design plan alone.

Within the strategies that will be used, there could be more information on how the instructions will excite the reader, not just that they will.

The context of this design plan is similar to my own, where as it may take place while in the process of the action.

If this instruction set was made for a person that was familiar with how to stuff a flounder, it would need much more attention to detail to keep the reader's attention.

1 - The most thoroughly

1 - The most thoroughly covered element is purpose, where the idea is set up and clearly thought through.
2 - Medium was covered least thoroughly, I say this because it was shortest, but there wasn't anything else I needed to know.
3 - It connects very well, it has a good plan.
4 - I believe the instruction set would be less effective if it were changed, it clearly is set up to be successful.

I feel that audience is being

I feel that audience is being covered most thoroughly here. It is interesting that information about flounder and the fact that they are caught routinely by fishermen is included in the plan.

Testing seems to be covered the least out of the rhetorical elements. Although it is a good idea to use a peer for testing, I would like to know who you would target for testing, because of the audience you are presenting the instructions to.

The arrangement of this proposed instruction set will be similar to my own, catching the readers attention first, and providing visuals to accompany the steps.

This instruction set would change tremendously if it were written for a different audience. For instance, a fisherman would be atleast slightly familiar with flounder and how to filet fish, whereas someone who didn't know anything about fish would have a very difficult time learning the basics of fileting and maybe even what a flounder looks like.
