grilled cheese sandwich: audience 1

How to make the perfect grilled cheese sandwich

Purpose:
My purpose of these instructions is to provide the necessary steps to making the best grilled cheese sandwich ever. It would be great for whoever comes across this recipe to enjoy it as much as I do; this is the product of altering the way my grilled cheese is made after many years of enjoying them. If they love it, and continue to make it this way, that is fantastic! If they think its awful, hopefully they will at least use it as a basis to doctor it up to meet their tastes. Either way, if even one person enjoys the sandwich and feels the same way as I do about it, I would feel more comfortable about backing the recipe as well as feel a sense of comfort of creating it.

Audience:
My potential audience is anyone who has access to a frying pan and the proper ingredients to make the sandwich and people looking for a great way to make a grilled cheese (men, woman, and/or children's parents), and possibly looking for a quick, inexpensive, and comforting lunch.

Context:
Most likely, the audience will read the instructions during some kind of down time from work or school; maybe around the time they actually want to make put the recipe to use. It will probably take place in the home, somewhere comfortable like the living room.

Strategies:
Since most of the audience will have already eaten a grilled cheese sandwich previously, I will focus on getting them to understand what makes mine worth trying. Plus, The ingredients listed are likely to already be in the kitchen, so it is likely they are to put the recipe to use since they would not have to buy extra items that they will never use afterwords.

Medium :
The format of the recipe will be text with illustrations making it more concrete, and put together in a way that would work for a magazine, and that magazine's webpage. My target audience are the type of people that would find most of their information from those two publications.

Arrangement:
The ingredients list will be at the top of the page, before the steps are noticed. To catch their eye, the title and its font will work in some way with a picture of an tantalizing grilled cheese sandwich, one that makes them feel like they need one. Each step will have text and illustration accompaniment describing how to make it; and each step will mention tips and warnings for safety.

Testing:
To test the directions, I will provide it to several friends that fit the range of my audience and see how their final sandwiches come out and if they are what I want the audience to produce. I will make the necessary changes and then go through the directions myself to make sure the steps are accurate.

The strategies and

The strategies and arrangement elements are very thorough. You understand that most people have eaten a grilled cheese before in their lives and you are trying to intrigue them into trying yours.. a persuasive tactic. Also, you noted how the ingredients will be listed at the top and touched on how you will format your fonts, etc. to make it appealing to the reader's eye. The context is a little vague- there are several reasons and places people would want to be searching for food recipes- especially college kids on a low-budget. Other than that, it's great! Compared to my instruction set, we're going about this completely differently, but that's probably because you are doing a recipe and I am doing coaching tactics. But, we both plan on using fun fonts and illustrations when necessary. I feel like the only way this could really change much would be the low-calorie version (which you have already explored), or maybe a dairy free form of making this. If that is possible?

Feedback

The arrangement of the instruction set is covered the most thoroughly in my opinion. The author has presented clearly how he plans to arrange each page and even includes details such as font style and picture location.

The aspect of the instruction set covered the least thoroughly is probably audience. As the author states, his audience is pretty much anyone with a frying pan. This is not very specific, and does not shed much light on the specific characteristics of the individual who may be reading the instruction set.

This instrucion set functions similarly to mine in that it makes uses of step by step, textual instructions supported by pictures or illustrations to assist with clarity.

It would be neat to see this presented in video format. Personally, I love watching the Food Network, it is my favorite channel on TV. I have actually learned a lot by watching people make the food in front of me, while they narrate the instructuions. It is a functional and engaging method of instruction.
