Purpose: My purpose in making these instructions is to help experienced players Fight Night games compete even more successfully and other players online. After reading through the instructions, I want the reader to then be able to have a extremely thorough grasp on player versus player gameplay.
Audience: The target audience includes both males and females (mostly male) probably around the age of 12 or 13 and up. They are PS3 owners and are familiar with both the PS3 and the fight night series.
Context: My audience will likely encounter these instructions at their own homes. They would use the instructions in a area comfortable to them, like a living room. This is where they're likely to have their PS3 hooked up.
Strategies: My strategy for novice players would include text and some graphical aid. A diagram of the PS3 controller with button mappings probably won't be necessary, as these players are likely already familiar with both.
Medium: It would make the most sense for the instructions to be in the form of a webpage. Since the instructions packed with the game don't include gameplay strategies and tips, the players would likely look towards the internet for guidance. There is a large gaming culture online.
Arrangement: The instructions would likely be separated into different gameplay strategies and topics under bold titles. There would likely be a graphic in the proximity of each corresponding topic as necessary.
Testing: I have already tested many of the strategies that will be detailed in the instructions personally. To see if the strategies were easily passed on, I will have my roommates, who already play the game but aren't the best players out there, use the instructions themselves.
In-class critique

Arrangement needs a bit more attenion in this design plan. What kind of graphics will be used?
This instruction set is very close to my own, because they are both covering how to be successful with a video game. Also, both of the sets will be available online to the readers.
If the instruction set were designed in a different context, it would not be as readily available to the readers. The internet is where gamers look for instructions and guides similar to this.
