How to Clean Up/Improve a Yard for Advanced Landscapers

Purpose – My purpose in creating this communication is to provide people who have landscaped a little before, a few ideas for a more detailed landscaping of their yard. These instructions take into consideration and assume that whomever is using them has some form of experience as far as taking care of a yard, and already maintains a landscape on a basic level. In this set of instructions I’ll strive to open new doors and present new ways of thinking, and in the end, help someone improve the look of their yard.

Audience – As previously stated, this is for a more advanced audience. The people I am hoping will use these instructions are adults with families, who have experience with yard work and are looking for a helper to get them to the next level. I will assume that whomever reads these instructions will have plenty of time to work on their yard and the financial ability to purchase any of the items needed that they don’t already own.

Context – These instructions will be found pinned up along the hallways of schools billboards, as well posted on many How-to websites. By seeing these in full form, from beginning to end, it will be far easier to follow them.

Strategies – The plan for the advanced pamphlet will taken into consideration that the readers yard already has the basic elements such as mowing, weedeating, and general cleaning already taken care of. My strategy in this particular pamphlet will be to show advanced ways to go about improving the looks of a landscape. Ideas such as planting small plants, and putting in rock-walkways will all be taken into consideration.

Medium – My current plan is to turn my instructions into a pamphlet, which will have all instructions and pictures inside, these pamphlets will be tacked onto boards around the halls of the school. An electronic version will also be posted on various websites with a printable version.

Testing – My dad is a professional landscaper, and I will present him with my ideas to make sure all of my instructions are all doable, and have a certain level of logic. I will clean up my yard, first with the basic steps, running through all the steps presented in the first/easier plan, and then afterwards, I will run through the steps of the more advanced plan. Taking pictures throughout.

response- How to Clean Up/Improve a Yard for Advanced Landscaper

The strategies element is very thoroughly expressed. There are many different methods in landscaping demonstrated and it gives ther audience a good sense of what they will be doing.

All of the elements seemed very well developed in my opinion. One that may be improved could be the context to tell us where and when the audience would encounter this information in a little more detail.

The proposed instructions thoroughly describe the methods that will be utilized in improving your yard. I think they are very clearly stated and the audience will be able to relate to these instructions based on the design plan.

If the instructions used in an additional medium, such as outside a lowes hardware, there may be an increase in the magnitude of people that are planning to use the instructions.

Here, the purpose seems to be covered most thoroughly. It is good because it will provide experienced landscapers with more knowledge, so that they will still be learning something from your instructions.

I think that the context is also the least covered here as well. In addition to thinking about the context in which the instruction pamphlet will be presented, think about the context of the audience. When and where will this advanced landscaping take place? Any special occasions? Any particular days or times? Any particular age groups?

This set of instructions once again relates to my topic "how to french braid" because I am most likley going to target beginner and advanced audiences.

These instruction sets would change if they were for an older audience because they wouldn't always be able to complete elaborate or difficult physical tasks. The presentation of the medium might change to larger fonts, more photographs, etc.
