Purpose: My purpose in creating this instruction set is to instruct the reader on how to become a successful Halo 3 player in online game play with Xbox Live. Halo 3 can be a very in depth and confusing game to learn, but if the player knows the basic ways to be successful, they can easily become a good player. Another purpose of these instructions is to excite the reader about playing Halo 3.
Audience: The target audience for this instruction set is beginning gamers that want to learn how to become good at Halo 3. These people can be either male or female, and of any age. Most likely, the intended audience will be the owner of an Xbox 360, and owner or soon to be owner of the game.
Context: The audience of this work will probably encounter this text at their home when they are trying to learn about Halo 3. Also, it is a good possibility that they could encounter it at places like internet cafes or game rooms, when they need help to defeat other players in online play.
Strategies: I feel like a useful strategy for conveying this information would be to excite the user about playing the game. Playing Halo 3 can prove to be a frustrating and time consuming task if the player wants to be good, and if the player is not having fun, the entire purpose is defeated. I also plan to include visual aids to help the reader understand what I am talking about when mentioning different weapons, vehicles, etc.
Medium: Since most people that play Xbox 360 are technology oriented, I feel like this instruction set would be most useful to people if it were to be available online on some sort of website. Usually, people needing help with a game go to google or some sort of search engine to discover what they are looking for. It makes sense to make a useful guide with what they are looking for available to them online.
Arrangement: The way I plan to arrange this guide is to start out giving instructions on the basics, and build the tips and steps on each other so that the reader can learn about the basic idea of playing Halo 3 online. Then, I plan to talk about four specific strategies that will help the player become successful at online play. These four strategies include knowing the weapons of the game, learning how to use a battle rifle, understanding the radar, and strafing.
Testing: Although I have already tested out the basics time and time again, I plan to test this instruction set on people that have never played Halo 3. I plan to start with my roommates, since neither of them have ever played the game before. For more feedback, I intend on testing this instruction set on other friends of mine that are gamers but have never played Halo 3.

The arrangement section is covered most thoroughly. You seem to have the basic setup of the instructions already made. I like the idea of it leading up to the four strategies.
The audience section is missing a little bit. Are the target audience familiar with first person shooters? Are they already experienced with the xbox 360 controller?
This istruction set directly relates to mine. They're both game related and they have similar audiences in respect to the experienced/novice player separation.
What if this was targeted to an audience of players that were familiar to first person shooter games like Call of Duty, but had not played any of the Halo games?
Halo
The arrangment section of the design plan is very well thought out. It provides an example of how each step will be arranged and how it will be beneficial.
The context could have been a little more thorough. Why would the audience need to consult these instructions?
The strategies used in this design plan are very clear. I can related this to my instructions because in both cases clear instructions are crucial to be successful.
If these instructions accompied the game they would be very useful to begining players. They could be offered anywhere, such as a gamestop in hard copy. This would expose the audience to them from the begining and would likely benefit new players.
