We are trying to reach everyone affected by the Domino’s crisis: The customers who ordered delivery from the Conover Dominos the night these videos were recorded, everyone who has eaten there in general (especially while those two employees were on the clock), potential customers to order from them after the crisis, and even the people who were so disgusted that they stopped ordering from Domino’s all over the country.
This information will be viewed during any situation where a person would have seen the video the two employees created and uploaded onto Youtube.com or have read an article describing it. It will be anytime computer access or a daily newspaper is available, like during before work or school, during lunch, or when they get back home. It could take place at a wide range of times, and very easily at home or in public; yet, the audience may briskly scan the article and skip the video after a minute or two.
We are trying to rebuild Domino’s image and make sure that their business is not drastically affected by the occurrences that took place in Conover, North Carolina. The youtube videos have been deleted, but they are still able to be accessed if someone really wants to find them, or even stumbles across it. We plan to promote how Domino’s handled the situation through firing the two employees and taking them to court. All in all, our main goal is to promote Domino’s as a clean and safe place to order food from once again.
A newspaper press release will be utilized, so those who do not get on the internet as much, or are unaware of the crisis, will understand how sorry Dominos truly is and the precautions they have taken to ensure that it won’t happen again. Another youtube video could be created, or simply a public announcement. A company website update may also go a long way, along with employee handbook updates.
We are going to persuade everyone affected by the crisis to eat and order from Domino's once again, that this situation was merely an isolated incident. We will let the public know the precautions that have been taken and stress how Domino's has made sure this will not happen again- for example, new employees. These new employees, as well as present employees, must understand the consequences of illicid conduct, like that of the two employees who made the video now understand. Maybe an updated set of rules and what the violations of these rules entail.
Our video will include an apology by the Domino's C.E.O; he will emphasize on empathy toward the situation and rehearse this so there is not any off-putting glances away from the camera (the audience' sight). It will be between 1-2 minutes. This will make sure the video is tightly knit --no "fluff"-- and the point is able to come across to the audience. Also, the youtube apology could have said a little more about their concern regarding the unsanitary behaviors. The newspaper article will have a similar apology, but better developed for a written medium, like an open letter of apology.
RE: Group SSS Proposal Report
OK, you have a start. You'll want to revise your document so that you're presenting a unified plan of action. You can start by establishing the situation (context), who has been affected and how (audience), and what needs to be done to correct the problem (purpose). Then you can move on to the particulars of the press release, the recorded message, and the internal memo. Break down how these texts will be constructed—what points they will hit, how they will create a particular tone through specific language, repetition of key phrases, or visuals, where and how the texts will be circulated, etc.—to achieve the effects you want.
