ACORN Group

1. Date and location need to be itallicized.

2. Needs more content.

3. Firestone Starts Investigation on Tire Models ATX, ATX II and Wildnerness AT

4. Firestone CEO John Lampe has issued the investigation of Models ATX, ATX II and Wildnerness AT.

5. Started strong but include more facts.

Faulkourberries Response

1. Other than the ending, "###", the format is correct.

2. No common mistakes were found.

3. Firestone Refuses to Acknowledge Tire Malfunction

4. Bridgestone Firestone, LLC will be conducting investigations on the reliability of certain tires found stock on many vehicles.

5. "6. Avoid excessive use of adjectives and fancy language."
This bullet was done well, the press release was very precise.
"3. Start with a brief description of the news, then distinguish who announced it, and not the other way around."
This was the only bullet that was not fulfilled.

New comment for TEAM EVAN below.

TEAM EVAN continued....

We only got to number 4. in class...for some reason our repsonses were submitted under Jordan Stephenson's name. But it is all TEAM EVAN, I will just be submitting the rest of the response under my name.

1. Include "###" to indicate the end of the press release.

2. The press release needs more content.

3. Potential Safety Hazard Found in Some Firestone Tires.

4. Recent reports of accidents involving Ford Explorers has lead to the investigation of the safety of Firestone tires models ATX, ATX II and Wildnerness AT.

5. This group did a great job with providing contact information for Bridgestone tires. Tip #3 will help to improve the group's press release. Instead of starting with who announced the news (the CEO), start out with all the details of the news (like the connection between Ford Explorer accidents and Bridgestone tires).

Firestone on Firestone: a self-analysis

1) The release is properly formatted.

2) More content would help.

3) Firestone Cooperates with Federal Investigation into its Wilderness ATX Tires

4) Firestone is cooperating with a federal investigation by the NHTSA into the cause of tire failure in its Wilderness ATX and ATX II tires.

5) The group sticks to the facts, including where, when, and what information important to press releases. The group should incorporate illustrations on how it is cooperating in the federal investigation.

SSS group analysis

1. This is formatted correctly, except that "###" needs to be at the bottom of the document to close it.

2. It needs more details. Maybe the section on what Firestone does to sympathize with the affected families.

3. Firestone investigates in tire safety.

4. Firestone Tires has started to conduct an investigation to provide safety for the users of their tires.

5. Does well: "Is your news "newsworthy". This is a very important issue, and the group answers all the "W" questions.
Could improve on: "Make sure the first "10" words of your release are effective, as they are the most important." Actually, a reconstruction of your group's second paragraph would be very effective; maybe with the response written before the issue.

re: Firestone Tires Press Release

You want to be careful about sympathizing with families, because that makes it seem as though you are admitting fault. You also want to put the company in the active role, so state at the beginning that it is the one launching a full investigation (in cooperation with the DOT or NHTSA if applicable) into reports of specific events. Indeed, it would help if you could isolate the year models in question. This means you should say what people should do if they drive a vehicle with a potential problem. Also, you should state that no reports have come in about other tire models, because you want to reassure customers that this is isolated. I encourage you to analyze the recent Toyota example.
