The Proposal is a brief formal report of approximately three pages that analyzes rhetorical aspects of the podcast you wish to create. The document should address the following issues. (These can be treated as discrete sections or engaged holistically.)
- Summary and Purpose: Provide your proposed podcast's title, discuss the subject matter it will engage, and define what it seeks to accomplish. Be specific and move beyond general intentions such as entertaining or informing.
- Audience: Identify the people this podcast targets and describe their shared features. Your goal is to establish traits that the design of your podcast (the episode and the website) can suit.
- Context: Compare and contrast your proposed podcast with three other comparable ones. The goal here is to triangulate how your proposed podcast fits into an existing generic context. Discuss how your work will be similar to its peers but also offer something different and original.
- Connection to the Local Environment: Discuss how your podcast connects with some aspect of the local environment, as is required by the project's parameters.
Proposals need not contain bibliographies, but they should exhibit the mechanics and tone of professional writing. Completed Proposals will be submitted through DROPitTOme (password: tirrell) by 3:30pm on Tuesday, Mar. 22. |
