ENGL 419: Multimedia Writing

• The Project 1 due date has been pushed back to 9/19 (next Tuesday).
• Please go through the Project 1 second drafts and respond to the questions people have posted before class time Thursday.
• On Thursday we will get to the drafts we didn't cover today and then introduce Project 2. Even though Project 1 isn't due until 9/19, we are moving ahead and getting a jump on the next one.

For Tuesday (9/12):

• Post map second drafts to Project 1 Second Drafts image gallery
• Bring in printed source critique draft (use this link to help with citation
• Bring in printed self critique draft

You will talk to the class briefly about your map, your source critique, and your self critique.

Remember to post your Project 1 First Draft and feedback questions to the appropriate image gallery before classtime Thursday. Even if you don't have your real data, you can do a mock-up that gives us the gist of how your map will work.

Draft workshops are for your benefit. I encourage you to take full advantage of them.

The meetings that you signed up for today (8/31) at the end of class ARE NOT held in the regular classroom. They are in my office, HEAV 207. My name is on the door with a bunch of other names. HEAV is the English building on the East side of campus. Email me if you don't know how to get there.

Please show up at the time you selected ready to discuss your project. Coming to the meeting prepared is a homework grade.

For Thursday:

• Post your Design Term definition and illustration to the Design Terms gallery if you did not on Tuesday.
• Read Compose, Design, Advocate excerpt 1.

Remember to do the following things for Tuesday's class:

• Read Picturing Texts 25-55
• Print and bring in your short critique of a sample map

Remember to do the following things for Thursday's class:

• Complete and email me the 419 Personal Inventory I emailed to you
• Read Picturing Texts 1-24
• Bring a song to class.
• Print and sign the Course Contract if you did not do so in class today.

The 419 Personal Inventory, song, and Course Contract count as credit/no credit homework grades
