Purpose
To effectively explain how to throw a lacrosse ball to an older group just looking to have fun
Audience
This audience is not the same as my younger audience, because an older audience is not looking for a way to get ahead to get a better spot on the team, they are looking to learn how to play lacrosse for fun.
Context
I think that the context for this prompt might include a youtube video, to an instruction booklet. This instruction set would need to be simple and concise. An older audience may not be as technology savvy, so a youtube video might not be the best method.
Strategies
I think that my strategy should be very informal because my audience is not looking for a very professional document. My audience is looking for a very simple and easy to follow set of instructions to help them have fun. I think that a turn by turn set of directions with pictures will be the most helpful
Medium
A print out or video would be quite effective for those interested in learning how to throw a lacrosse ball with their friends
Arrangement
I do not think that my arrangement will be too detailed because my audience will not be interested in much more than a set of step by step instructions, they are looking for a quick guide to learn how to throw a lacrosse ball quickly.
Testing
For testing, I could go to the beach and pick out different sets of an older audience and see if they could follow my directions
Feedback for How to play lacrosse for an older audience
I think strategies were covered the best in this instruction set. I thought it was interesting how Noah says that his strategy will be informal because his audience is looking to have fun rather than compete. I find this be very true with an older audience. He also will use a simple turn by turn set of directions with pictures, which I think will make it a quick and easy way to teach an older audience how to throw a lacrosee ball.
Are there any other forms of medium that you could use?
This instruction set doesn't really connect with my instruction set, except for the fact that lacrosse is a sport and I guess boating could be a sport.
If the strategies changed from informal to a more formal set of directions, then this instruction set might be directed towards people who were younger and perhaps more serious about becoming a lacrosse player.
Feedback
Strategies were covered the best due to the realization that older people may need an easier to follow plan that’s more correlated with fun the competitiveness.
I think medium could use some more thought on how the print out or video will be executed.
Our design plans are similar in context and medium because we both want video and a print out plan to accompany.
Even though old people may want to simply throw a ball around I think a more professional style purpose would be more effective.
