FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Domino's Promises Excellence After Correcting Employee Libel
Conover, NC- April 16, 2009- Domino's pizza apologizes to all customers for the disgusting and unsanitary video that was released by two employees. The employees have been released from employment and Domino's will seek prosecution for the employee's actions. The store involved in the video has been shut down for a thorough sanitation and to reevaluate the hiring process.
Domino's is the largest delivery chain in the world and has been providing excellent service for 50 years. In this time the corporation has expanded from a small pizzeria in Michigan into the largest delivery chain in the world.
After two employees posted a video of themselves vandalizing food, and violating health code the company felt a blow to their business, and long time dedicated customers were outraged. The vice president Tim McIntyre released a YouTube video stating that they immediately closed the Conover, NC location and completely sanitized the entire store. The store also will be restaffed and hiring policies will be reevaluated. Patrick Doyle the president of Domino's in the United States said in his YouTube response "We're reexamining all of our hiring process to make sure that people like this don't make it into our stores."
Domino's has taken the video very seriously, and has responded to the situation in an even more serious manner. The employees will face prosecution and Domino's promises excellent service and food for all customers. Domino's didn't take this prank lightly at all, immediately after releasing the employee's from their positions at Domino's there were felony warrants distributed for their arrest.
Domino's was started in 1960 in Ypsilanti, Michigan and has now expanded to more than 8,000 stores. It has been named the largest delivery chain in the world and delivered roughly 400 million pizza's last year. Domino's has locations in over 60 countries.

GM group's comment
1. There is a lot of needless repetition. Also, don't say anything negative about your company.
2. It's very sales pitch-y. We need more facts and less history of the company. One line would suffice.
3. (They didn't commit libel)
Domino's to Reevaluate Hiring Policies in Response to Sanitation Violation.
4. Domino's apologizes to customers for the inappropriate video posted by two former employees on YouTube.
5. You shouldn't bad mouth the company, even if it is just a video about the company. There is a lot of excess information. Trim it down to the most important parts.
peer review
1. Include all contact info (physical address/fax/company name). Need ###
2. Take out the first paragraph of background info and avoid being repetitive. Watch out for "Buy Me" we don't need to appease the journalists just give them the facts.

Group Comment
1.The press release format for this is right on target, except you need to indicate the END of the document.
2.There seem to be no real press release errors. There are really no grammar problems and the content is concise and efficient to the document. Therefore, the overall product was well executed.
3.Domino’s Cries for Excellence and Forgiveness.
4.Domino’s apologizes after unsanitary video was released by employees.
5.Make sure the information is newsworthy: everyone wants to know what restaurants are sanitary and if the employees are satisfactory, therefore, this is very newsworthy and very interesting. Tell the audience that the information is intended for them and why they should continue to read it: the recap of the info was very concise and made the reader want to know more making them continue to read the press release.

5. Good to use quotes from Patrick Doyle. Info from last paragraph should be combined with 2nd paragraph.
re: Press Release
Look at your commenters for headline ideas; "libel" really isn't the right term here. Also, the second paragraph doesn't belong where it is now. Indeed, it could be omitted completely. Finally, state that employees were tampering with food in the first sentence, but don't get into details about specifically what they were doing.
