Self Assessment

The Self Assessment is a brief (approximately two-page) document that clarifies what final course grade you believe you have earned and why, based upon class achievement (rather than difficulties encountered due to the weather closures).

If you were unable to devote as much time and effort to course assignments as you would have preferred, this is an opportunity to discuss how you have re-engaged with the corresponding material and what you have learned from it. If you missed a minor assignment, convey how you have absorbed what it covered. Show aspects of your overall class performance that your grade currently does not reflect.

In order to obtain any extra credit, you must share your assessment with the instructor in an individual meeting; a document alone will not earn any points. In-person meetings can take place in MO 161 at any time from 2:00–5:00 pm on Dec. 10, 11, 13, or 14. Online meetings also can take place at these times through the university's Zoom video conferencing platform. You will need to provide the instructor with a copy of your assessment at your meeting.

This Self Assessment can be considered to be an overarching extra credit opportunity. It is capable of adding up to 40 points to your final total, which is equivalent to a full letter grade.
