Safe Airlines

weekly discussions

Ever since 9/11 the airlines have been trying to make the airways safe. It's been five years since 9/11 and now they are upgrading the planes that the public always beleived to be safe. Don't you think that it has taken a little to long for them to do that?

Safety

I'm really suprised that this hasn't been done already. This action should have been taken immediately. It also really bothers me when people complain about the searches that go on in the airport. I feel that a small inconvenience is absolutely worth it.

Safe Airlines

I think it is a good thing that they are finally coming up with something to safeguard planes from terrorism. It has indeed been five years since 9/11, but I think that the engineers had to come up with something they were confident would work. This probably took a long time, and now they finally came up with something they think will do the job. I would rather them take longer to build effecient equipment than to just throw something together that might not work in a time of need.

Finally

I wish it hadn't taken this long for something to be done. I would feel a lot more safe knowing that this was already taken care of. However, with any kind of reform, it takes time. Just look at how long it takes legislation to pass - years! Airlines had to come up with the funding and the ideas to make this safety measurement possible. That part of the process takes time.

I’m really glad that they

I’m really glad that they are finally making these safety precautions. I feel they are a little behind the time but they are still needed.

Eh

Kind of seems a bit much with laser jamming on planes. I mean don't get me wrong if a missile was coming at my plane i would want it but then again how often are missiles shot at commercial planes rather than huge buildings. Seems like a waste of money on that part. As for the vides and other stuff they seem like great ideas to help out that are very cost efficient.

Really? This late?

I thought they would have come up with something already! I guess although five years later they are actually doing something, so we should be thankful for that. Still makes you wonder though whether they really can ever be completely safe again.

safe than sorry

i think it is better safe than sorry. indeed it has been a really long time but before 9/11 no one ever thought that we need more safety precautions. As long as we are still making improvements its safer to travel know than it was yesterday.

Finally

The new safety measures seem to be able to do the trick, but they really should have tried to impliment these earlier. Five years is way too long for something like this to be put into effect.
