context

The context is all of the environmental variables that determine how an audience can interpret your presentation. One should always try to consider the context of a presentation. The questions that you try to answer as a result will affect your choices of strategy, medium, and arrangement. Such questions include:

  • The mood of the audience.
  • The time of day/season/year.
  • The location of the presentation.
  • The comfort level of your audience.
  • How others might be presenting if you are not the only presenter.
  • How the audience will recieve the information considering YOU are the source.
