Portfolio questions

Please respond to the two prompts below in a comment:

  1. Offer one question about the portfolio assignment.
  2. What would be the most productive use of the portfolio workshop time for you? (Would you like some instruction about web design, or print design, or just time to work, or something else?)

Project 2: Promotional Material Design Plan Drafts

To post the draft version of your CD Package Design Plan draft, follow these steps:

  1. Log out of the site
  2. Return to this page by clicking on "class blog" and then "Project 2: Promotional Material Design Plan Drafts"
  3. Post a comment to this blog by cutting and pasting your draft into the body of the comment. Remember to remove your name!
  4. Submit your comment

After everyone has submitted their drafts, we will each respond anonymously to two of our classmates' drafts. To respond, do the following:

  1. Select one of our six rhetorical elements that you think the design plan draft is covering well, and explain how you think it is being effective
  2. Select one of our six rhetorical elements that you think the design plan is not covering well, and explain how the design plan could be improved in this area

When you respond to a draft, make sure to click the link that says "reply" underneath the draft itself; don't click the link that says "add new comment" at the top of the page!

Successful CD Package Analysis

Post in a comment your observations about the CD package you selected to analyze. Please include the artist's name and album title, and a link to Amazon if possible. You do not have to produce a full design plan, but you should demonstrate insight into the package's rhetorical components (sense of purpose, audience, context, strategies, medium, arrangement) like we did for our example in class.
