Dookie
When thinking about what album had a lot of content to look upon this one album came to mind. The album called Dookie by Green day is described by planes flying around and dropping bombs of dookie. When i originally saw this album I never did much thought into looking at the art. I just listened to the music. After going back and looking at the album art I saw just what they were dropping. These planes were dropping tons of crap onto a cityscape. After doing a little research the album art designer was trying to show i found some very interesting things. The First thing for the artistic design was that they all come from East Bay and a lot of art comes out of that area just like music. Within the art there are tons of people doing things. These things all the people are doing are what the band and artist have done in the past. It’s a huge mixture of ideas and actions. The original back cover was a picture of Ernie from Sesame Street but was later taken out for fear of mothers thinking that it would be for children. This album art is nice because it shows insight into some of the things the band did.
here is the link for the album art.

If I'm not mistaken, Dookie was sort of Green Day's "break out album", the album that brought them into the mainstream spotlight, but also alienated from the hardcore, non-mainstream "punk" scene, and I think the cover sort of reflects the last vestiges of their youthful, and maybe "immature" outlook on the music industry. The album covers that came afterwards, like those of Nimrod and American Idiot, seem a little more conservative and in my opinion more professional in their design schemes, and more political or reflective in subject matter. This is probably because the context of the band and their music shifted, and the album art shifted along.
Still, going from bombers dropping feces to http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-images/B0002OERI0/ref=cm_ciu_p... is quite a trip.
