EASY BUTTON
I found it quite difficult to find something that was something i could go into detail about. I was looking over some promotinal material when I thought of the easy button. During the last 2 years staples has been advertising the easy button. They advertise from lost ink to another lost easy button. The whole catch to the easy button promotion is that if you come to staples its as easy as hitting the easy button. They are basically saying that they have everything for office supplies. This is a catchy advertisment. If someone were to start talking about the easy button most people would know that they were talking about staples. The whole point of an promotion is to make it in a way that people will reconize the product. Even after the original easy button campain they have changed it in a way that it makes prices easyer by haing easy sales. This is like the sale of the week. If you go to staples they now have that same easy button on the commercials for sale so you can hit the easy button any time you want. Also, if you go on the staple website the main thing you see is the easy button.
I think that the Easy Button also conveys the idea of making something as tedious as organization and keeping a workplace clean and tidy into something that is simple and painless. It seems to play off people's lack of motivation for these tasks, as well as push the fact that buying neat things like organizers and gold-studded paper clips will somehow make everything related to organization in the workplace easier than if you just did it on your own. I personally didn't like the ads, as it felt a little bit condescending and cheap, but thats probably because I'm disorganized, and very self conscious about being disorganized, at the same time. Still, I think it was a very effective ad campaign.
