2.) Desperate Housewives Fan Podcast Episode #26: "Don't Judge a Lady by Her Lover"
3.) The 'cliffeotc' Desperate Housewives Fan Podcast is a fairly casual discussion of the hit television show Desperate Housewives. Every Sunday night Cliff and his wife get together and discuss each episode of Desperate Housewives. I chose this podcast because I want my podcast to be about cult followings of different TV shows. I chose this one because DH is my favorite sitcom and I wanted to see how they created a podcast discussing the show. The visual (vodcast) is not as interesting as the audio track, (it just shows the couple sitting in a studio-like room) this is definitely a podcast that relies entirely on the audio. While I was searching this site, and the podcasts, I feel that I need something going on visually, as opposed to just listening to a radio-talk discussion between two people. It made me realize a few things about the podcast I would like to create for the project. I want to include interviews because I like to listen to a podcast that includes more than just one point of view. I did like this podcast though because it was all about my favorite show. Obviously the interest factor is prevalent pertaining to this podcast. The most effective aspect of the podcast was that it felt like something that we all do about our favorite shows. It was very natural. The podcast was a very simple reaction to the shows dramatic ups and downs and they go through each character and story line methodically and it is interesting to hear what other people have to say about the episode that you just watched.
4.) Do you think that the podcast was effective without anything really going on visually? Should I use interviewing in addition to the discussion method that was used on this podcast? If I were to do a similar podcast ( I would do a VODcast) reflecting on a TV show do you think it would be "unfocused" if I chose to interview several people with different favorite shows as opposed to just one?
Desperate Housewives Podcast
The podcast was indeed effective without video, but seemed to get a little boring after a while. There could be something as simple as a slideshow of images pertaining to the show. It would probably be quite confusing to discuss more than one TV show within a single podcast if there was not video or slides to accomodate the audio.
Desperate housewives question
I thought that this was a little bit ineffective without some video. Like you said, I think perhaps that a multitude of people being interviewed would be a good idea to keep the audience entertained. Also, it would really depend wether or not you will be talking about many different tv shows, or just one. That would make a big difference on if you needed visuals or not.
Desperate Housewives
I think the podcast works without any video or images but it has the potential to be more effective if with them. I think your podcast would be better if you focused on one TV show and maybe interviewed fans of that show. The idea to add a visual element to the podcast you would do is great and would make it more effective. Interviewing a few fans on what they thought about an episode, I think, would be a little more entertaining than just discussing the episode yourself or with one other person.
Desperate Housewives
I really like the idea of this project, and I think it worked fine with just audio. However, I think it would be really effective to have interviews of fans of a particular show, or just interviews with people about their favorite reality shows, on a vodcast to get a visual and keep your audience interested with some variety. You might want to keep in mind that you will have a very specific audience for this topic (people who watch the shows) so if you do interviews of people about their favorite shows, you might want to do genres of shows for the purpose of episodes.
