Students will present their research through a poster, which is a common academic genre that uses visuals and text to communicate findings. The audience is your fellow classmates and instructor (what our readings call “semi-laypeople”: fellow scholars who are not necessarily familiar with your area). Posters, like the associated Research Papers, are rhetorically composed to inform viewers and guide them to a particular point.
Poster dimensions are either 48" x 42", 48" x 36", or 42" x 36"; you must select one of these three sizes. Students commonly use Adobe Express
