As stated in the Assignments section, the midterm exam has both an in-class and a take-home component. The in-class component will be done in class on Tuesday, Oct. 24. You will be given the take-home component when you turn in your in-class exam. You will have a week to complete the take-home component, making it due on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
The midterm has a total of 150 points possible:
in-class portion: 100 points
take-home portion: 50 points
Your total score will be a combination of both.
To be prepared for the midterm, you should:
Be able to define and use all of the course design terms. We collaboratively produced an image gallery about textual features that is a useful resource.
Know all of the course readings:
Pay particular attention to steps, stages, lists, procedures, recommendations, diagrams, etc.
Be familiar with the Project 2 reading presentations we did as groups. The group PowerPoint presentations are posted on the Project 2 page under the "Applicable Files" section. You should read one or two readings that your group did not cover (they are available on the project page). Midterm questions will involve associating readings together, so you should be familiar with more than one.
Be familiar with the Project 2 tool or technique presentations we did as groups. The group PowerPoint presentations are posted on the Project 2 page under the "Applicable Files" section.
