If the subject of choice is too professional (or hard to understand), will I be required to provide as much explanations needed to make the general audiences understand?

What exactly is the purpose of this project?
I realize that you've left it very open ended on purpose, but what are you expecting from us?
Do you want us to produce something that has no better point that something inane such as "Remember to put on pants before leaving the house" in a creative fashion, or do you expect something detailed and in depth concerning some important topic such as a discussion on the upcoming election?

Could you give some more examples? Because I am totally lost on what we are supposed to do.

If I produced a comic, would it have to be displayed on the web or could it be displayed in some other form such as flash?

When we present to the class, is the project supposed to be fully finalized? Do we need to dress according to real-life on that as well?

You mentioned the movie, "Contact." I did a web page about Arecibo and Contact:
http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~stathmk/5K3/index.htm
Could I do something where I plan to make a better Voyager Disc, better Arecibo message, or etc.?

You mentioned, "A webcomic such as Leisuretown or Diesel Sweeties." I've never heard of those. As you know, I'm in The Purdue Skeptics Society. What if do commentary or updates on some comic such as the hilarious thebricktestament.com, an anime comic, or parody a web comic?

I'm not quite sure what you want from us? Are you looking for artistic ability or content?
