Thus far, it seems that we're doing okay as we've already met with the other relevant groups and now it's just a matter of figuring out what it is we can do in the meantime while we wait for the design team to finish up.
Right now, all we're doing is looking at the original site's coding and determining what we can do to improve upon it, though right now it is a matter of preliminary testing and trying to get the code to work on a skeleton framework so we can then incorporate the design team's plans into what we're working on. We will most likely be using CSS to apply the color and other elements of the site to each page, so as to cut down on needless coding and the like.
The only real issue is how well everyone knows their coding. It's been several years since I've had a formal HTML class, and everything else I've done since then was through the use of Dreamweaver, which I will be using once again for this project. I still retain some knowledge of by-hand coding, but I generally rely on simply the program to do most of the heavy lifting and it helps since I can actively see how it looks in the main program, as well as see a web-browser preview too.
