The team evaluation form and individual evaluation form are now posted.
We will do the team evaluation in our teams during class on Friday. To complete the form, all teams will first need to post their team contribution documents as .doc or .pdf attachments to this post. Then, in class on Friday, teams will use the contribution documents to score all of the teams (including themselves) based on their contributions to the overall project. Each team will turn in only one form.
The individual evaluations will be completed independently on Saturday or Sunday and emailed to me as attachments. All students will read through their teammates' project work blogs and score all team members (including themselves) based on their contributions to the team.
Both the team evaluation form and individual evaluation form are private and will only be seen by me.

Mr. Parks emailed me and indicated that CFRC would like to go with the first color option of mock-up #1 for the website design (viewable at http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dcb3z2bn_12gz82tzcz). We can all now start going forward with that.
On Friday in class we will determine what outstanding questions and issues need to be addressed, and we will discuss if it would be productive to invite a CFRC representative to visit the class to discuss feedback, or if it would be better to get written feedback once we have a working website prototype instead.

I received some information from our client contact. It is appended below. The contact should be in on Monday to talk to us. Remember to think of questions that you want covered.
contact information:
1. We use a local Internet provider(Wintek)for our wide area services
(Internet and bridging our sites together to make them appear to be on
the same local area network). They use DSL to provide those services
so
streaming video and audio from the site would have to be done so that
the streaming didn't affect our daily use of that internet connection
(e-mail, intranet, and internet traffic). This cannot be changed to a
T-1 or a fractional T-1 because of costs.
2. We have a java compiler installed on the web server so any forms
based web parts could use this compiler. (On-line forms sent through
clients email)
3. We have SQL server available if a database back-end is needed.

Our client contact will visit the class on Monday (11/3) to go over the organization's needs. In your groups you should be thinking of questions that you would like to ask the client contact, such as information about the website's audience, what strategies (such as color schemes or logos) the organization wants, what their technical capabilities are, and so on.

All students are allowed, if they chose, to revise and resubmit either Project 1 or Project 2 with no grade penalty (only one project may be resubmitted per student). Students who chose to exercise this option should turn in a complete revised project (design plan, text, postmortem) and the complete original project that I returned. Resubmissions may be turned in at any time on or before Nov. 24.

Remember to bring in your Project 2 design plan draft on Friday, Oct. 10. For our draft workshop, we will make our drafts anonymous, trade them, and then present a classmate's design plan to the class. This will help us see what is coming through in our current draft and what is unclear.
Your draft can be in its early stage (six discreet sections) or its more developed stage (a continual narrative). Select whichever option will help you the most at this point.

Adria, Neely, Cody, Chris, Danny should make their podcast blog post by midnight tonight. All of us will then listen to the example podcasts they provide and make at least one comment on one of their blog posts (this includes bloggers). Comments can be replies to other comments (in fact, this is preferable). The point is to develop a conversation that our bloggers can bring into class on Friday for discussion.

Remember that the due date for Project 1 (design plan, data map, postmortem) is Wednesday, Sept. 24. Also remember to post a question on the Project 1 more questions page sometime on Friday, Sept. 19. I will give you feedback on your data map draft over the weekend via private message.

Keep in mind that you can change your data map topic at any point. You are not committed to doing what is in your design plan draft. One of the main reasons we do revisions is to discover which topics are workable and which are not.
