WEEK 12

almost famous — Fri, 11/14/2008 - 20:22

This week has been a little confusing for me. There has been a lot going on and a lot of hashing back and forth. I have no background in web design so much of my task this week has been asking questions to help better understand what each item means in the Gantt chart and how much time and effort some of these tasks take. This week I created a class group on gmail with Stephanie so that our group could easily distribute documents. I also helped created the deadline doc with Stephanie. Today, each of us visited each of the groups and asked about the project. We looked at each group’s progress and took notes. Once we obtained information by asking questions, I aided in changing the gantt chart to fit the new work schedule. At the end of class today, I presented an idea of how to better manage each groups progress. My idea was to assign each of us to a group as their go-to. That way for example, Stephanie would be in charge of the design aspect. She would be their go-to when they needed something. Stephanie would then report back to the rest of the Org team and we would aid her the best we can. I felt like this would be a good way to give personalized attention to each group instead of all of us meeting with every group every time. Kevin then suggested we rotate. So starting next week we will be assigned our groups, but on Friday we will all rotate around to each group. We will try this method to see how it works. Then make changes accordingly.
