The documents and testing team spent the entirety of this week working on creation of initial design plan elements and a draft-testing plan. Personally I was in charge of working on the “board member “ audience of the website. After browsing the CFRC website I found the current board member list. This allowed me to gain a better understanding of their collective careers, as they are listed on the site. This background information, as well as some searching on some board member’s employer homepages led to the audience, context, arrangement, and strategies sections of my portion of the analysis.
Pieces of information, such as technical abilities of the board also helped to determine certain strategies that would work best for this web project. Speaking with the different teams gave our team a better idea of the direction this project was heading, and our first analysis gave the rest of the class a better understanding of the audiences we were trying to reach. With that portion completed I moved on to creating a testing survey for the CFRC board member audience. This consisted of questions that would guide our design and coding teams to better tailor the website to the users. As soon as a first working draft of the website is up (especially the CMS and backend) the board members will be able to test it and give us feedback using the form I created in Google Documents.
