This is the first week of the project. The design team has been very busy with creating mockups, color comps, and communicating with the front end team. Tyler has done an excellent job with communicating and keeping our team on schedule.

On Monday, we meet as a team and discussed what we needed to do to get started. We created five to six thumbnail sketches. We searched the Internet and looked at other existing websites to get some ideals. I created five thumbnail sketches, and made notes of the websites that had good design layouts. I created a document on GoogleDocs to help our team with organization. In the document, I listed the websites that we found were useful in this document.

On Tuesday, I searched the Internet looking at other websites to find a color scheme. I made notes about the existing websites that I found that used good color schemes. I came up with combinations of colors that I thought might work with a mockup.
On Wednesday, our team looked at other websites. Tyler made a sketch of a mockup in class, while we discussed what we thought needed to be on the front page of the website. We took into consideration everything that the client had told us that the organization wants changed, and the three main items that the client wants to be featured on the website (careers, donations, and volunteers).

On Wednesday night, Tyler sent a mockup design to the team. He posted this mockup on GoogleDocs, and he sent me that attached Adobe Illustrator file. I forwarded the Adobe Illustrator file to the rest of the team. On Thursday, I took the Adobe Illustrator file and made five different color schemes with Tyler’s mockup design. I posted these color schemes to GoogleDocs, but somehow the rest of my team could not access this document on Wednesday. I fixed the problem and resent it to the team. I also sent the mockups that our team had available to the rest of the class. I tried making other mockup designs, but the ones that I created looked like Tyler’s original but with slight modifications.

On Friday, our team discussed the color schemes, and discussed what we needed to do to make some more mockup designs to present to the client. I have some new ideals, and I am working on a new mockup design and several different color schemes to go with the mockup design. The team is supposed to have these new mockup designs ready for Monday. On Monday, the team will discuss the new mockup designs and color schemes. The team is currently on schedule.
