Week 12 work blog

NEWMAN — Sun, 11/16/2008 - 20:18

I know this is late and for that I apologize. I'll start with Monday November 10. On Monday myself and the other group members had what seemed like a brainstorming session for the design plan. We knew that our medium was set, but what we wanted to define were the audiences that would be visiting this website. What we came up with were four audiences the job seekers, the board, volunteers, and donors. My personal audience analysis was the job seeking audience. I was able to define the purpose of the website stating that it was to provide the visitor the proper information and the ability to apply for a job online. This analysis was what everyone did for class on Wednesday. We also came up with some early ideas for testing and the change document.

Wednesday November 12:
On this day the group reviewed the audience work we had done giving each other feedback on what was good and what we could add. Also, on this day we decided that we were going to use google docs form feature to create our surveys for the test audiences. We made this due Friday as well as a more in depth audience analysis that discussed strategies and context. We also decided that we could use screen caps and comments in the code for the change document that would make it very easy to understand. One of the last things that we did was ask the designers and coders about the arrangement of the website as well as placing comments in the code respectively.

Friday, November 14:
Once again we started the day with giving feedback on the more in depth audience analysis. We also gave feedback and edited our test surveys and came up with who each of us could survey for their respective audience. For my audience I am trying to survey people with a psychology background that will be able to give the proper feedback on whether the website is effective. Another nice thing about Friday was we were able to see some of the design mock-ups and this gave us an idea of what the arrangement of the website was going to be. For Monday we assigned everyone in the group to clean up their audience analysis, so that we can easily put them into one coherent design plan. Overall, this week has been a very productive week for our group with us being slightly ahead of schedule.
