Online data map analysis steps:

  1. Find an online data map (you can look at the Project 1 page for some ideas).
  2. In a written document, analyze your data map according to the six main rhetorical elements in Compose, Design, Advocate (audience, purpose, context, medium, strategies, arrangement). Devote at least a paragraph to each element. You will want to make conclusions about the elements and then defend them using evidence drawn from the map (and external sources, if appropriate).
  3. Make sure to include the map's name and URL at the top of your document
  4. Print one copy of your analysis with your name on it to bring in to me.
  5. Print one copy of your analysis without your name to bring in to the class.
  6. Send a private message to me with the map's name and URL. I will make a list of them so that they are easier to pull up in class.
