How to Paint an Aluminum Boat

Purpose:

I hope to teach people how to prepare and paint an aluminum boat. I want my audience to be able to save money by learning to paint their own boat instead of have to pay a professional. I also want them to learn the proper way to prepare the boat before painting and how to actually paint the boat. After reading my instructions I want my audience to feel confident with their abilities to paint their aluminum boat.

The rhetorical element

The rhetorical element covered the most in josh's instruction set is the purpose. His set included how to prepare and paint an aluminum boat.

Josh didnt include the other 6 rhetorical elements.

Both of are instructions sets are designed to help individuals and give them confidence in different situations.

This instructiojn set would differ if it targeted a more expeireced audience by giving them tips and trouble shooting advice instead of a step by step process.

Boats

I think that the most effective rhetorical element that the author used was purpose. I think that the purpose is very clearly defined and outlined as to how the author hopes to save the reader money by outlining distinct points in this process. I like the part of the purpose when the author outlines his/her goals for how the audience will hopefully feel after reading the directions.

The author probably needs to work on some of the other elements. I would like to know who the target audiences are, so that I can understand who the directions are marketed towards.

If the audience changed, say away from boat owners to another group, maybe to prospective boat owners, the author would need to change his game plan to effectively target that audience.
