So I'm doin just about everything I can to find something about CD packaging and come across the Simpsons Movie Soundtrack on google!!! Without even knowing the quality of the music or who is even going to be on this album, I would probably be tempted to purchase it due simply to its intriguing packaging!! I mean look at the thing...it has a box of donuts for the outside casing with a sprinkle donut on the inside that holds a CD inside!!!

I decided to do the album Vices by Dead Poetic.
The cover simply has the band name and the album title. The background is textured and has the appearance of something that has been worn and abused over time.
Vice is defined as a practice or habit that is considered immoral, depraved, and/or degrading in the associated society. Basically sin, habits, or addictions of an individual.
The first image shows a man in despair. A snake is draped across his shoulders and he is looking down at a bitten apple in his hand. This obviously alludes to the original sin.

I chose to analyze the Animals CD Package by Pink Floyd. The cd only contains a handful of tracks, but is one of their most purposeful albums. From looking at the cover, you get an impression that the world is a dreary, boring, and monotonous place. Being from New York, one of the first things I saw when I came to Lafayette was old factories and smoke stacks, and the first thing it made me think of was this CD cover.

Apologies for the late post. Projects and such.
I've always been into the macabre and the darker genres of science fiction and fantasy literature and art. Gothic and pseudo-religious themes have always been a big theme for me. One of the few CD's I actually own is "Phobia," by Breaking Benjamin: http://www.amazon.com/Phobia-Breaking-Benjamin/dp/B000G6BL7E/ref=pd_bbs_...

I picked this cover design because it was one that really caught my eye and kinda jumped off the page at me. It depicts a mob of babies with spears and headgear against a mob of old folks with spears and headgear. The first thing that came to my mind upon seeing this photo was how our world differs from the world of our parents and grandparents. The things that we are growing up with and the things that they grew up with are so different and contrast in so many ways.
