English Department Graduate Program Presentation

Summary:

Each group will give a brief client presentation (no more than five minutes) demonstrating the document it produced. Presentations should explicate the design of the document and why it will be effective. Each group's Proposal will be submitted with the presentation, so it may be a good strategy to connect the two.

Groups may select one or more representatives to deliver the presentation; all group members need not participate. Presentations will be videotaped and accessible to the client. Presenters are encouraged to utilize TCT ch. 21: Preparing and Giving Presentation.

 

Rubric:

Criteria Traits 0–2 pts.
Preparation few inordinate pauses, few filler words, obvious rehearsal, within time limits  
Vocal Delivery eye contact, voice modulation, presenting rather than reading, demonstrable enthusiasm for and knowledge about subject  
Body Control visible to the audience rather than hidden behind furniture, hands used appropriately, limited fidgeting  
Organization clear purpose, comprehensible structure, substantive material  
Companion Materials presentation corresponds with proposal and any other audiovisual aids
