Service Learning Project

Summary:

For this assignment, students working in groups will produce informational/promotional documents for non-profit clients. Groups will work with two separate clients sequentially: the English Department Graduate Program and TealTV. Client representatives will visit the class to articulate their needs. They also will provide feedback on group drafts. Client feedback on final document versions will have a direct and significant impact on project grades.

Through this project, students will practice working collaboratively to produce professional materials for an authentic client. In so doing, students will demonstrate their understanding of audience awareness, research, ethos, professionalism, and document design.

DISCLAIMER: All materials created for this project become the exclusive property of the respective non-profit entities. If clients are unable to provide project feedback within an appropriate timeframe, the instructor will make all project grading decisions. The instructor retains final authority over all project and course grading issues.
