I looked over the brochure and it looks fine... we will have another draft as well so we can always work on making that one a little better or making any changes that we think will be good. Right now I don't think that I can do anything better for the detached part. If we don't hear from Nick by Saturday than I can do the group activity report.

Don't worry about it, I'll do it if we can't get ahold of Nick. That way you don't have to worry about doing it while your are out of town.

you guys did an excellent job. I think it looks great. I only found one error (after I submitted it) but I guess that's why we are doing multiple drafts. I checked to make sure we met all the requirements and I am pretty sure that we did. I submitted it as a pdf document. Thank you guys working so hard. I really appreciate it when I have good team members!
Steven - I can send you some ideas to write in the group activity report, although I don't think it will be too difficult considering how much work we did this week. It is important to stress detail and professionalism. I'll post that sometime soon for ideas because I don't think we are going to hear from Nick!

Changes
hey group!
Mr. Tirrell posted the changes for Draft 1 and it is due Monday. I can make some changes and I figured Stephanie could make changes to the attachment part, and Steven could make design changes and Nick just fill in. Make sure you post the changes you make (updated version) on the wiki page so we all are working with the most uptodate brochure. I will make some changes later this evening (FRIDAY)
Nick, are you still planning on turning in the group activity report? You didn't post any reading response which we were supposed to reply to?!?!
Make sure you also comment on what changes you exactly made (if not obvious)
Activity Report
I am going to write the activity report this weekend. I will also make changes to the brochure tomorrow.(What do you mean by "fill in" ). I am having trouble writing my reading response and work blog because I didn't contribute at all. I have emailed Mr. Tirrell to ask his advice on this. I am sorry I haven't been a good group member, I'm trying to get everything together.

Changes to brochure
Hey guys I made a few changes to the text of the brochure. I had to use the greyscale version Steven gave on 7/18 because for some reason the others weren't working for me. I fixed all the addresses, and removed the phone number that wasn't needed. I got rid of "the" in front of "the CFRC" throughout the brochure. I removed the "inner fulfillment" bullet and added some more services CFRC provides. I wasn't sure if we should add the counseling center and the head start. I changed volunteer form by adding a phone and email section, but I wasn't able to add a line after them. I also replaced Pam Briggs to Christmas Day Dinner in that section. I have attached a word document with the revised paragraphs for the text above Christmas Day Volunteers and above Volunteer/Donation form. Some things got moved around so you might need to do some formatting. Stephanie if you want to talk about some of the other text changes that need to me made contact me on this page or email me. I posted my reading response for you guys to comment on. Sorry it is so late, I was having trouble because I felt like I was taking credit for your work, and I didn't want to do that. Let me know if you think the changes are OK and I'll be writing the activity report tomorrow. I will probably use some things from your work blogs. Talk to you later.

One more thing
After looking at the brochure this week have you guys thought about changing the background color. I showed the brochure to some friends for an outside opinion and they all thought it was a great layout, but they didn't think it looked very reflective of the Christmas spirit. I like it, but I can see their point. Just a thought.

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that I will be out of town until Monday afternoon/early evening. I will go over the brochure and see what I think needs to be changed. Let me know if there is anything else I need to do and I will get back to you all by Monday night.

Here are the changes I have made to what Nick changed. I am assuming that Steven all you have to do is change the format somehow to color version?!?! Let me know. Also, Steven I am assuming you don't mind making the necessary formatting changes.
I don't understand what he means when he says we need to change Christmas Day Volunteers. ?!?! They are all things that need to be done. I made some text changes. Steven if you want to post it again then I'll look over it and make sure we've made all the changes and submit it on EST.

Changes to brochure
Hey Rachel I looked at the brochure you attached and nothing was changed. I think it is the original brochure. I noticed that the address is still incorrect and text is the same. Just wondering if you attached the right one.
Also I don't know what he meant by changing the Christmas Day volunteers either. Maybe we should write an email to him and ask him to clarify.

Steven, in one of my last comments I attached a word document with changes to paragraphs we had in the brochure (7/21). The paragraphs I changed were discussed in Tirrell's comments. I put them in a separate word document because I thought you could copy and paste them. The attachment is "changes to text.doc.". I noticed in your attachment that this wasn't changed. I also added some services that CFRC has and we need to get rid of one of the phone numbers on the brochure. The one that needs to be removed is mentioned in Tirrell's comments. This is in my other attachment above the changes to text attachment. Also in the volunteer form it says donations can be made at anytime but I put that in the paragraph that goes above the form. Let me know if you have any questions.

Also, all the changes are being made to the gray scaled one. Can you just change the view back to color?? Is there really any difference between the gray and color?
I have a class from 7-8:15 EST but I will be on here afterwards. I don't mind posting the final work once STeven makes the final changes to the format. (most everything else has been done!)

Hey guys! Here are some changes I made to the last grey brochure that was posted. I just went by some of the comments that were made for draft one. Most of them had to do with my three panels. Let me know if this looks okay. Otherwise I think it looks good so far.

ok. ive been making changes myself. i posted some of them earlier. i wasnt sure if there was a meeting or not thats why i was checking. i will make all the changes that have been done to the grey scale version on the color version, they are two seperate files not just one file with the color switched off.
ATTENTION!!
So I was going over all the requirements for our brochure and there are some volunteer opportunities that we dont talk about. There are four categories Pre-event Coordinators, Pre-event Volunteers, Event Volunteers, and Post-event Volunteers. We have completely left out anything about pre-event coordinators. What I have done is changed the format of our brochure to 8.5x14 with four columns, I dont have text for the two new panels yet (maybe some help with this) but I think that if we go with this idea we can be sure to include all the necessary info about the event. let me know what you think. i know its due tonight but i was thinking that if we go with it, it would be better to do it today so we can recieve more feedback.
New idea
Steven, I like your idea and I will try and get more information on the pre and post events. I attached a modified version of the new brochure with the new paragraphs for the brochure. These are the paragraphs Tirrell said needed to be changed. They are above the Christmas day volunteers and the volunteer/donation form. I don't think I can make the meeting tonight, but I will try. At the very least I will check the progress and provide anything I have by eight o'clock. I miss spelled "and" in the last sentence of the paragraph above Christmas Day volunteers, and I can't seem to fix it. Just a head up.

because we were missing some of the requirements and that was the only way to have room to add the information in. it was just an idea like i said in my previous comment. but nick liked the idea so we just ran with it. it doesnt matter if you wanna stick with the trifold thats fine. i can format it either way. the group chat doesnt work for me. i am on aim though.

Thanks Rachel, I am aware of the time change. Just gets a lil hard to move forward without any feedback. And I know you guys have trouble with word, and when moving any text around it takes a lot to line everything up again so I want to be able to correct these things so you dont have to worry about them. Im just getting really tired thats all. I dont have class til 1pm tomorrow so I dont mind staying up to make sure we get this thing right.

I like the fact that you noticed something we missed. But I think it's to late to make signifigant changes to the brocure. Let's see what Tirrell and the CFRC say about the changes we have made, and go from there. We have addressed everything that was wrong with the document. Submit the current brocure and let's see what kind of feedback we get. We have the best layout of all the brochures I've seen, and we have one more oppurtunity to perfect it.

Hey guys! The new brochure looks pretty good. We can see what they say about the changes and go from there for our final draft. Sorry I was not able to communicate with you all today. I was flying home from Texas and my flight got cancelled so I ended up spending my whole day in the airport and got home 6 hours later then expected. It looks like we have a little more time for this last draft so we can go by comments and hopefully meet more so that we can get everything figured out. Sorry about today and I am in town the rest of the time so I should not have any more communication problems!
Color brochure
I was just looking at the color brochure that we posted for our draft 2 on the blog post. For some reason the background color shows up differently and it is not gray. It makes the tan color print hard to read. We may want to consider that when we do our next draft and make sure that doesn't happen. Just something I noticed and thought I better mention it before I forgot.

Yah Rachel and I were trying to deal with that last night and it was posing a problem once we uploaded it. I have posted a comment with a new version of the file and the background should show up.
Meeting
I thought we could try to set up a meeting in advance so that we could try to get everyone together to discuss our final draft. I thought Monday would be a good day because we should have all the feedback back by then. I can do it anytime but does anyone have suggestions because I know Rachel is on a different time and I don't know what else you all have going on. Also where are we going to meet? Aim is good for me but I don't know if everyone has it and last time I could not get that chat page to work. Let me know what you guys think so maybe we can get something set up early enough that we can all attend!

Anytime is pretty much good for me. If it is on Monday I would prefer it to be no later than like 4 cause I have a final early the next morning and 4 for your guys is 9 for me. Aim works the best for me cause I still havent been able to get the group chat to work.

Just wondering would it be possible to copy and paste the text and design over into publisher? I just think a lot of the design problems we are having is because of word.
Also though, that means you and whomever has publisher would be able to make changes (I wouldn't). Just a thought.
