This week has been devoted to making the final changes with regards to the comments made from the Humane Society. The biggest concern I had to face dealt with the layout of the General Information Brochure. According to the Humane Society it was “funky and hard to handle.” Seeing how this was all that they specified about the layout, I assumed that they meant that they did not like the way the four column brochure would be created because they would have to use paper that is larger than a standard sheet of computer paper. To fix this problem, I completely changed the layout of the brochure. It is now a three column brochure that I hope they like better. To make this possible, I had to remove some of the text and rearrange most of the pictures. However, this may have been a good thing. It forced me to make everything straightforward and simple. I feel that the brochure still retains its professional look and appeal to the reader. Also, to run these ideas by another group member, I called Faheem and discussed the various aspects with him on the phone. In addition to this, I reviewed the Caring for Your Pets Brochure. I only made one subtle change, which was to increase the amount of white space around the images to prevent the text from bleeding into them. Other than this very minor change, this brochure was well done.
