After receiving feedback from the Community and Family Resource Center and from Mr. Tirrell, we spent this week using the suggestions to revise our brochure for the last time. After a big improvement and refocus from the first to the second draft, the transition from the second to the final was much less strenuous. Many of the comments we received had to deal with visual aspects, but for the most part, our reviewers were content with the content of our text. There were minor areas that we needed to reword or omit altogether, but they were quick adjustments. Keeping these in mind, we made changes accordingly to both visual and contextual issues. We met as a group a couple of times before we turned in our assignment Wednesday night. In these meetings we all discussed the areas for improvement and came up with the best case scenarios for all errors. Some of the aspects we worked on for our final draft were alignment and parallel issues, rewording unclear text, and omitting parts. For example, we originally included a text box with the header “What is the CFRC.” We chose to omit this for size reasons and we felt that providing the mission statement of the CFRC would suffice. Our group had a couple of different trial brochures based on our comments, so we each made adjustments and sent them out to the rest of the group. When these were all brought together we combined parts to make what became our final product. We wrapped up our brochure Wednesday night, and I am in charge of writing our final activity report due Sunday.
