Job ad analysis
This is a position for volunteer student internship available at the Commercial Service, U.S. Embassy in Korea. The responsibility of this position is to work closely with Commercial Service American Officers and Korean Trade Commercial Specialists to help U.S. executives understand Korea and Korean commercial opportunities. The main duties are preparing market research, counseling U.S. companies, editing publications and participating in the organization of trade events and exhibitions able to work as an office management/administration handling projects on an as-needed basis, including system administration and IT management.
I chose this position because I was interested in the field of public relations and it also relates to my major management, minor communication and marketing. Starting with an internship in U.S embassy would be a great way to build my background of working in at this field Through my experience of living both in United States and Korea, I realized that communication was the most major issue to fully understand others and able to successfully work together as a team. Besides, the world has become one big body, every small part being closely related and connected making the international business even more important. I would love to manage problems and counsel between two countries where I have to work as a team doing numerous discussions, presentations, and analysis to satisfy both countries. Also I am interested not only work for private companies but also for government organization where I am in charge of nation’s household.
I believe that I am well qualified for this position not just for what I studied in college but also for my active personality and lots of experiences from volunteering different activities. First my major is business management and I studied communication and marketing as a minor. With this educational background, I have an outstanding communication skill learned from experiencing many different places in my school year. Also volunteering for helping people devastating from Hurricane Katrina and teaching Korean to foreign workers gave me a broad perspective of seeing the world and taught me how understanding others. I can speak both English and Korean fluently, able to use any language when I needed. My interest in international relations led me checking articles and news in international section especially in international business and relations.
