3. I haven’t had any internship experiences.

4. Many of my classes have taught me valuable skills. COM 114 helped me to overcome my fear of speaking in public and the importance of the audience when writing a speech. CS 235 refreshed my knowledge of certain applications like Microsoft Word and I also learned more applications of Microsoft Excel. OBHR 230 taught me the importance of volunteering in your community as well as how to deal with difficult team members. Being a Boiler Gold Rush Team Leader has helped me work with many different groups of people as well as dealing with people’s differences. Attending leadership conferences have also taught me how to be a leader but be a different kind of leader in different situations.

5. I earned the Blue River Lions Club Scholarship and the Gene and Kay Dellekamp Scholarship. These were awarded to me upon graduation of high school through the Blue River Foundation. I have also received a Purdue Alumni Scholarship.

6. I am a very organized person and cannot stand clutter in my work area. This helps me achieve my goals because I always meet my deadlines. I am also very responsible in all aspects of my life. As a diabetic in college, I had to adjust to the hectic schedule but still be responsible to take care of myself. Also, my time management is great. Being involved in numerous campus activities including president of a club has taught me the importance of knowing when to accomplish each task by the deadline. I’m also very outgoing and I consider myself to have strong communication skills. I deal with customers and patients every day at the hospital. I also try to have a positive attitude about everything. I am definitely a people-person and love working with others. These skills will help me communicate with others in my future career as well as succeed with my organization and time management skills.

7. One of my minors is Spanish and I can speak Spanish fairly well. I also can read and write in Spanish. I have taken 6 years of Spanish and will continue next semester. I have worked with many groups of people including in class, work, and strangers. I also have experience working with people that are younger than me and much older than me.

8. I know a good deal about computers because I use them everyday. I am an extremely fast typist and I have a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

9. Besides a computer, I don’t have any skills working with other kinds of equipment.
